Laurel Brae Olive Estate is located on 40 acres of prime basalt ground outside Goulburn in the Southern Tablelands. The trees are planted in a northerly aspect on the slope of a hill rising to aprox. 60 metres. above bottom ground. A total of 2000 trees (500 each of following cultivars ) Frantorio , Corrigiola, Manzanilla, Picual. The groves are planted in a 5mtr x 8 mtr spacing. First trees where planted late in 2000, after extensive ripping and survey set out. The whole programme was carried out by family members and friends. Over the next 3 years the irrigation system was installed,with quite a few replant of failed trees. First oil produced in 2005, a grand total of 25 litres. From 2005 to present day the oil produced has increased to aprox. 1000 litres from 6 to 8 tonnes of fruit. The same trees will produce aprox. 30 tonnes at year 30.
